Hello there, do you smoke pretty well? Yes! Good! Do you do exercise? No! Well done! Can you gulp down five bottles of beer within an hour? Wow! Bravo!

Wait! Really? There's no better way to put this bro, you have just opened a wide portal to the underworld, and you probably would go down  pretty soon, because, unfortunately, these habits and more play a remarkable role in HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE.

Just so you may know, higher blood pressures increase heart workload and progression of unhealthy tissue growth (Atheroma) that develops within the walls of arteries. The higher the pressure, the more stress that is present and the more atheroma tend to progress and the heart muscle tends to thicken, enlarge and become weaker over time.

OH! Where's my manner? I really didn't mean to scare you. Since food can't be cut away from your existence, I'd give you two food-related tips to keep HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE in check. I hope they make up for my unusual mood.

Most of us consume too much salts. Cutting down can help us reduce blood pressure. We should aim not to exceed more than 6.25g per day.

Studies show that potassium and magnesium found in spinach, bananas, wholegrain cereal and nuts, can also help lower blood pressure. But don't focus too much on individual food types.

Last year, scientists at Lund University in Sweden found that a varied diet of foods containing antioxidants, wholegrains and fatty acids could bring blood pressure down to nearly one-tenth.
I guess you have learnt something new today. It's all about eating your way to good health.
