The world is engulfed in the fiery flames
Of football betting and virtual games.
The elite, young and old are the same
In this sordid murky pool of shame.

Reward for ardor it seems at first glance,
Be eagle-eyed to know the true stance.
It's nothing but a wild game of chance,
Stripping you unclad for a bad romance.

Today, your odds may seem to fly,
Soaring high like bird, up in the sky.
Tomorrow, your stream has run dry,
Losing your wealth in the blink of an eye.

What's the point of ephemeral success?
It brings you joy and others distress.
You smile to the bank amidst cheers,
The other man wallows in silent tears.

O one living in the fool's paradise!
O lover of programmed dogs and dice!
You're witty than being a slave of a vice,
Shun all forms of gambling and be wise.

Sports viewing should always be for fun,
It's a unitary element to unite us as one.
Nay! It's not to turn father against son,
We're winners irrespective of who's won.
